Man, it feels like this thing took forever to get done in anything resembling presentable to y'all. Ever since my Star Pirates animations, I've meaning to test Sketchup's animations limits to see if anything like a real movie-thingy-animation could be made, but I didn't get far until I combined it with the Picture in Picture and Chromakey options in PowerDirector. But it still took me ages to get all the animations and sound effects right. Not to mention exporting it and then converting it in a decent resolution AND clear sound AND which would upload on DA. Appearantly those characteristics are mutually exclusive. But I did it!

Anyhoo, this is... nah, I'm not gonnna tell you anything. That would spoil it all. Just sit back, watch and let me know what you think. One thing I can say is sorry about the Dutch, but I wanted to keep in the spirit of this little Dutch jetfighter from an alternate history.

Oh, and that I have a little fiction about this cooking up that I will post soon...

:iconmarrekie: this one's for you...

Wow... This must've been A LOT of work mate! Very impressive man. This is by far the most complex skp animation sequence I've seen on this site. Two moments really stand out IMO: when the cam zooms out from the monitor and when the pilot enters his office. Really nice work!

Btw: you somehow failed to mention you were designing a carrier dude, hahaha!

Well, to be brutally honest, I did borrow some items from the 3D warehouse. This may or may not in whole or in part pertain to a certain type of aerial supprt vessel of the Royal Dutch Navy that was in service from ’48 till ’68.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for (alternate) historical accuracy. Of course, I did tweak it to have a flight prep room, AA guns and a hydraulic lift.

Glad you like!

@03:07That's amazing! Very well built and animated! Excellent sound application too

The field of view is bothering me a little, it seems too low, like it's in a model construction FoV. A 35 degree field of view flattens everything out
setting it anywhere from 75-90 degrees in your animation will show more of the environment and make it look a bit more believable, but that's just me nitpicking, this is very well done

@03:07Hmm, that is an interesting idea. I've had the angle set on the default value of SU and the frame on a 4:3 ratio. It'd be nice to see what would happen if it was tweaked. Thanks for the feedback!
