@02:59Hey thanks for some critique. Keeps me sharp.

Well, first I wanted to create a kind of old school pirate ship feeling with high sides sporting rows of guns that would form a hughe defilé fire (that’s where two ships pass side by side and pound away at eachother). Call it an artisic freedom over common sense.

Second, the Star Pirates battle system lets you combat one enemy at a time, so there is no need to cover all sides at once. We’re not talking about point-defense systems here. These are major assault weapons. It is common to align the entire ship to optimise the best firing position for its weapons.

Anyway, if I’d wanted to make a plausible spaceborne battleship, it would look a LOT different. In fact, I’m thinking of modelling the Copernicus ([link]) some time in the future. That’s a good example of my take on more serious ‘hard’ scifi.

Finally, here's the Dreadnaught Mk I animation. It took me a while, because of my new job taking up more time then my previous one, the baby and a new commission I'm working on.

Anyway, some new playing around with angles and fly by's and such. Hope you enjoy!

@03:00That's a bit weird, because I never put any music into the clip... What do you mean exactly?

@02:59the ship has soooooooooooooooo many blind spots in its line of fire
only being able to fire to bort or starbord would be a major disavantage to a star ship in any kind of fight
