OMG It's November!!! ...again!

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 8:24 AM
Steamrolling right over my euphoria of the contest with :iconmarrekie: (of which I regard myself at least the moral victor, since he stooped so low as to actually employ demotivation tactics in an attempt to remove competition ;)) comes the typerhigh :typerhappy: of NaNoWriMo! [link]

This month is all I have to produce a novel of no less then 50.000 words. After all the modeling of the past year, I really feel like putting my keyboard to good use and pound away to describe the stories that are continually running around in my head, often chasing each other around.

In my case it won’t be a finished novel of 50.000 words, but a continuation of the Nullworld novel I’m writing. I used this for my first participation of NaNoWriMo in 2006 and 2007 as well (couldn’t do it in 2008, because I was knee-deep in debris that used to be my kitchen) so I have roughly 100.000 words on paper already.

When you’re typing like mad to make the 1.667 words a day quota, you don’t spend too much time on quality control, so it’s my intention to use everything written so far as a draft that will need a complete re-write sooner or later. I’ve revised important parts of the storyline in my head on numerous occasions. That’s planned for next year, when I’ve moved into my new house with the awesome office / game room / home cinema in the attic. Ooooh, I’m gonna spend some sweet hours there!

But for now it’s loads of coffee and typing like there’s no tomorrow every evening… And I’m already 1400 words behind! :'(

Thank you! I wish too, but unfortunately my private life leaves me no more room for commissions. :(
But it was still an awesome job! Who knows? Maybe some other time...

That is unfortunate D: but just think about it, You've influenced the lives of over 40000 people in a positive manner with your artwork on that site. :D

You know, it's people saying things like that, which really makes all the hard work instantly worthwhile! Thanks man, you really made my day!

Your stuff on DA is good too, I normally use sketchup to draw airships and those hull tutorials of yours are really useful :D

I'd like to say you've got a great gallery. I check up on it about once a week and think you're starships (as well as everything else) are fantastic!

By the way, Star Pirates is having a contest to see who can build the best Lego versions of stuff from within the game, including your ships! You should check it out.

Thank you, man. I appreciate it. And also thanks for the update on the Star Pirates forums! It's been a while since I was there. Looks pretty cool and I spotted at least one very accurate model of a Sloop.

Just checked those pics on Flickr. Insane stuff man. The builder did use some artistic freedom, but still... how cool is that?
